Extreme Close Quarter Shooting
- Understanding the realities of Close Quarter encounters
- Effects of surprise, time compression, and limited reaction space
Weapon Retention & Protection
- Principles of prevention
- Maintaining control
Close Quarter Weapon Access
- Accessing your weapon under pressure and from compromised positions
- Managing limited mobility and restricted space
Shooting Positions in Close Quarters
- Retention position concepts
- Front-ready position concepts
- Position selection based on distance and environment
Ambush & Proximity Awareness
- Understanding that most attacks occur suddenly at close range
- Recognising common ambush patterns
Physical Engagement Before Weapon Use
- Integrating empty-hand concepts with weapon access
- Surviving initial contact without being incapacitated
Purpose & Reality-Based Training
- The brutality and speed of real-world attacks
Concepts Over Skills
- Why skills alone are not enough - the extended knowledge to understand the simulation
- Understanding the “WHY” behind every action and decision

 

What to bring along:
• A legal handgun.
• Minimum of 200 rounds per day, if possible 250 per day.
• A sturdy belt with an IWB or OWB holster.
• Magazine pouch plus at least one spare magazine (pistol). For revolvers, bring a speed loader if possible.
• A completed indemnity form (also available at the range).
• Own food and drinks (non-alcoholic). Don’t forget plenty of water.
• Ear protection.
• Eye protection.
• NOTEBOOK (A5 size), PEN & PERMANENT MARKER.
• CHAIR.
• An open mind and a serious attitude to learn.

 

 

Pre-range rules:
1. Firearms must arrive secured - in a holster, box, or bag.
2.Do not handle or unholster your firearm until instructed.
3.Report to the Range Officer immediately upon arrival.
4.Complete and sign the range register.
5.Only unpack or handle firearms with the Range Officer’s permission.

 

 

Suitable Dress:
• Closed shoes with good grip (boots or takkies).
• Cap/hat with a firm peak (baseball style).
• Durable shirt & pants for comfort and movement.
• Jacket that can zip or button open.
• Sturdy belt to support gear.
